Name: Marik Ishtar/ Malik Ishtar. But in the rp the good true Marik/Malik will be called Marik.
Age: 16
Status: Top duellist and he used to be Tomb Keeper but he absolutely hated it.
Favourite card: Immortality deck He used to own the Winged Dragon of Ra, one of the god cards, but he gave it to Yami after he lost the duel. He doesn’t know the secrets of Ra as well as his yami does.
Millennium item: Millennium Rod -> It gives him the power to control peoples mind and body and change them into his mind slaves. He can also send souls to the shadows.
Personality: He has a rather unstable personality, to say at lightest his sense of right and wrong has been messed up seriously. He used to be good and innocent inside when he was just a young child. But he was so traumatised because of his hard faith and the ritual he bottled all his anger, pain and sorrow and created a second personality, a.k.a. his yami. When his father was threatening to kill Odeon Marik reached the limit and his yami took over on him and killed his father. Malik had been on the point of killing Odeon when the real Marik was able to take over again. Marik didn’t realised he had a split personality and when Shadi said it was the pharaoh’s will he though it was the pharaoh who killed his father and he swore revenge. During Battle City he committed a lot of crimes and mind games seemed to be his absolute favourite. In the end it appears that his yami was controlling him a great deal but still a lot of it was Marik who did it after all. When his yami takes over on him and threatens to kill his older brother Odeon, Marik changes sides again and in the end he helps the pharaoh winning the duel by forfeiting. Marik has a very complex personality. He is always torn between either being good or evil. Of all the Hikari’s Marik is the one closeted to being bad as he had willing give in to take revenge. His freedom is the most important thing for, except for his brother and sister that is. As kid losing his freedom at being a tomb keeper was the reason why he didn’t want to follow up his legacy.
Other: He knows the ancient hieroglyphs. He has the pharaoh’s secret craved on his back, which is to him his shame as he hates his tattoo’s. He loves his motorbike of which he had been dreaming from when he was just a child. Odeon is the only person who can help him Marik to keep a bit sane and fight his yami. Even though he seems weak considering how he keeps up fighting he clearly isn’t.
(If you want to call the split personality Marik has by a fancy name: DID, dissociative identity disorder)
I would rather have used a pic with him on his motorbike but I just didn’t managed to find it so I’ll settle with this for a while.
Alright I know that theoretically he’s still a npc but as I did kinda adopted him by now I thought he at least deserved a profile.
